OUR PRINCIPAL!

Brent Kuykendall has officially taken over the principal's chair at Peninsula High. Mr. Kuykendall comes to us from Miraleste Intermediate where he has been principal for the past two years. Prior to that, he was principal at Ridgecrest Intermediate, an associate principal at PV High, and a math teacher in the District for ten years.

Mr. Kuykendall grew up in Palos Verdes, attending Ridgecrest and graduating from Peninsula High in 1995. He hopes that his familiarity with the peninsula and his experience growing up and teaching here will help him better connect with both students and parents. "It helps growing up in the community; it helps understanding the pressure of growing up on the Hill," said Kuykendall. "There are great opportunities that come with that, but there are also challenges and stresses that can be created by surrounding yourself with a lot of successful families and students."

RETIREMENT!

A dozen Peninsula High staff members will be retiring at the end of the 2016-17 school year. This group represents nearly 200 years of combined service and commitment to PV Peninsula High and the PV School District. We will miss our colleagues and hope that their retirement years are filled with happiness and adventure.

ART GALLERY OPENS!

In what is the fulfillment of a long-held vision, Peninsula High has proudly opened the Bradbury/Smith Gallery, a permanent gallery on our campus for the showcasing of our students' artwork from the drawing & painting, photography, ceramics, and glass-blowing classes. Peninsula High has a long history of excellence and innovation in the visual arts, and the Bradbury/Smith Gallery honors that tradition and reflects our ongoing commitment to the visual arts in our learning community.
