Pen High Principal Mitzi Cress has announced her retirement effective June 30, 2017. Mrs. Cress has been at Peninsula for twenty-two years - starting off as a counselor before becoming Assistant Principal in charge of Counseling, and then serving the past seven years as principal. Mrs. Cress was named the Educator of the Year in 2000 and was selected as one of the 30 Most Influential Leaders in Education in 2016. During her announcement to PVPHS staff she emphasized, "I will do everything in my power to ensure a smooth transition. You are Peninsula High School, not me, not any principal. Let's celebrate all that we are here at Peninsula."
