Free Tutoring Options
  • During the week before final exams, the National Honor Society offers free lunchtime tutoring in all subjects (except English) in H64 and H65. Contact Mrs. Okamoto okamotob@pvpusd.net
  • Starting 2nd semester, the National Honor Society (NHS) members will provide free tutoring in all subjects in the library at lunchtime. Contact Mrs. Okamoto okamotob@pvpusd.net
  • Math tutoring is offered zero period, Monday-Friday in room S47 with Ms. Slattery. This is a free tutoring service for all PVPHS students. Ms. Slattery will be covering all subjects through Precalculus Honors.
  • Math tutoring is offered in the Learning Center FREE after school, Mondays – Thursdays, from 2:45pm-4:00pm with Ms. Williams. Classes available for tutoring in the Learning Center are Essentials of Algebra (A and B), Algebra 1, and Geometry MCR.​
  • Tutoring in Spanish is offered at lunchtime in Room S42 by the Spanish Honor Society. Contact Ms. Valerio valerioj@pvpusd.net
  • Tutoring in French is offered at lunch and after school by the members of the French Honor Society. Contact Ms. Sam samm@pvpusd.net

Other Tutoring Options
  • Peer Tutor Referral List: A list of current students who offer tutoring is available at the front counter in the Counseling Office. The list provides contact info and area of expertise. It is your responsibility to contact the tutor and coordinate a meeting time and payment.
  • SBUT Tutoring –You can visit the SBUT Tutoring website for information about hiring a private tutor. The following information is taken directly from their website: “Many of the members of South Bay United Teachers provide private tutoring. This program is strictly an agreement between the teacher and the individual requesting services. All tutoring parameters are set by the teacher (location, time, cost).”
