WELCOME TO PENINSULA HIGH COUNSELING

Thank you for utilizing our counseling website. This is an ever-changing time in our world, but we are working together daily to find the best ways to meet your student's needs. As always our counselors are developing resources to support your students, and open communication with them. However, do not hesitate to reach out to your counselor directly as we know there are many questions and concerns during this time. If you are looking for additional mental health support please reach out to counselors, but you can also look here for a list of resources around the community.

Many adults are wondering how to discuss the coronavirus in a way that will be reassuring and not make kids more worried than they already may be. Fortunately, there are some great resources from our youth wellness partner, South Bay Families Connected, that can help. Please visit the following links to the SBFC website for:
These resources pages, and more, can also be accessed from this month’s free SBFC e-newsletter. You may also visit our own PVPUSD Families Connected webpage for additional youth wellness resources on a wide variety of topics.

Introduction to Peninsula High Counseling

The Counseling Department utilizes a systematic approach for providing pertinent information to students. By having the same counselor throughout high school, continuity is maintained and counselors build on gathered information to reinforce individual expectations.

Counselors see students whenever there is a concern. Situations are brought to the counselor’s attention by a teacher, an administrator, a parent/guardian, or by another student. Students may request to see a counselor whenever they have a need. For an appointment, students complete the Request to See Counselor form available in the Counseling Office. Students are seen as time permits. In the event of an emergency, students will be seen at once. Parents should feel free to contact counselors. Assistance may be given via the phone, e-mail, or in person with an appointment.

The Counseling Office is committed to:
  • Providing support to each student as he/she strives to achieve individual success in school
