In AP Classroom, I will unlock the 10 question multiple-choice Macroeconomics quiz at 2:00 pm on Friday, June 5. The quiz will be named 2020 Macroeconomics Quiz. You must submit your answers by 2:15 pm on Friday, June 5 unless you are one of a very few students who contacted me by Wednesday, June 3 at 3:00 pm and got my permission to take a make-up.

I will provide make-up instructions ONLY for those students by 3:00 pm on Thursday, June 4.

I am posting a macroeconomics study guide now,but it is not complete without additional resources that I will post throughout the week. (Note: There are two tabs in the Excel file.) Note: If you are in Period 2 Statistics with Chaiyant Kan, she said you can join her period 1 class at 1:00 on Friday, 6/5 so you can take my quiz at 2:00.

(This email message is only for students for whom CollegeBoard did not send answer files to me. If you are one of these students, I sent you an email on Tuesday, 5/26. All students opting out of the official AP exam must take an optional scored assignment for 20 points. Be available from 12:30-2:00 (longer if you have extended time accommodations). At 12:30 I will have a video conference for a last brief explanation. Questions will be posted at 1 pm and due at 2 pm (3 pm for those with extended time). The exam will be modeled on the real 2020 exam format.

Put your name, period and date on each page of your answer! I would prefer one file with all of your answers rather than 3 separate files. Email to lybergerl@pvpusd.net

Between now and Tuesday, May 19, I will assign two sets of Microeconomics practice FRQs. Pace yourself, given I know many of you have other AP exams on various days. I am assigning and unlocking the two sets so you can submit at any time, as long as you do so before the due dates. Certainly you will need more than a couple of hours of studying (again I recommend the final exam study guide among other materials and lots of FRQ practice). Remember, on the real exam, you will not be submitting any graphs, but doing graph scratch work will almost certainly help. Be sure you clear sufficient space on a desk or table top to do so when you practice and on the day of the exam.

The first set, entitled "Pre Exam Practice FRQs 1" consists of 3 FRQs, due at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 15. The first two questions together would be "Question 1" on the exam (worth 55% of exam points), for which you will have a total of 30 minutes including the 5 minute upload time. The third question would be "Question 2" on the exam (worth 45% of the points) for which you will have a total of 20 minutes including the 5 minute upload time. Practice with these times as your target. NOTE: I have chosen these questions from optional student practice questions, so you might even be able to find the answers if you look in the right place even before I "grade" them, which I will only do this time for completion. (I will click on full credit for your answers within a day or so of your submission in AP Classroom, even if you submit early. Be aware I will only be looking for completion and you will have to check for accuracy yourself.) That way you can get fairly rapid feedback. Please resist the urge just to copy answers even if you can find them on your own. (This set of 3 FRQ questions will be worth 6 points in Aeries...2 points each...for completion. Even If you run out of the allotted minutes before you finish them, do finish them before you submit your answers to me.)

Per my post in Teams and email message there have been some updates from the CollegeBoard about emailing answer(s) if an upload fails. You must choose one of three times to attend. This is not optional. I will also quickly discuss the alternate exam for students who have chosen to opt out of the real AP exam.

The times will be 10 am,1 pm, and 4 pm.

Microsoft Teams is no longer optional for my classes.

Here are instructions for joining Microsoft Teams for those of you who missed it before:

See important message from CollegeBoard that was sent Sunday, 5/17. I've copy/pasted the important section directly below but please read the whole message from CollegeBoard. To summarize, students testing THIS WEEK and on Make up exams, will have the option of emailing in their responses IF there is a technical error when uploading. It sounds like if this happens, a window will pop up prompting them to send an email with their answers IMMEDIATELY.

Unfortunately, it is not retroactive to last week's exams.

Submitting Exam Responses

We share the deep disappointment of students who were unable to submit responses.

•	Beginning Monday, May 18, and continuing through the makeup window, there will be a backup email submission process for browser-based exams.
•	This option will only be available for students who were not able to submit in the standard process—and they must then email their responses immediately following their exam.
•	These students will see instructions about how to email their response on the page that says, "We Did Not Receive Your Response." The email address that appears on this page will be unique to each student.
•	Any student testing between May 18–22 who can't successfully upload their response through the exam platform or send it to us by email, will need to request a makeup exam.
•	To protect the security and validity of exams, we're unable to accept submissions from students who tested May 11–15. However, these students can feel confident that the email option will be in place for them during the makeup exams.
•	Email submissions will not be available for the World Language exams.

EDLIO IS HOME BASE FOR MY CLASS SINCE WE DON'T MEET REGULARLY. READ!!!!!!!! ALSO READ EMAILS!!!!! I understand this situation isn't great for you or for me, but just like all year long...Edlio is where I post assignments and important information. Sometimes it is a required assignment for submission, but also there are extra tools. In this case it was help for students completing a required assignment. I have been avoiding frequent required video conferences with attendance taken, but may start these post AP Exams since we will cover new material vs. review.

I also sent the following via email AND posted on Edlio previously, but I can tell some people are IGNORING both.

A significant number people have submitted the "Pre Exam Practice FRQs 1 and I am seeing consistent errors. Avoid the quicksand with these hints!

1) In resource markets, marginal analysis involves MRP vs MRC (or MFC), NOT MR vs. MC. MR vs. MC is used in product market analysis. MRP vs. MRC is used to determine how much of a resource to employ while MR vs. MC is used to determine how much output of a good or service to produce.

2) A monopsony is the only employer of a resource, while a monopoly is the only producer of a good or service. They are NOT the same thing. In a monopsony graph for labor, there are no wages on the MFC curve. Wages are found on the Supply curve.

3) EXPLAIN!!! I am getting answers with results (e.g increase, decrease) without any explanation as to how and/or why the result happens. When you see that magic word "explain," you must do so!

Again they be graded for completion only, and I will be clicking as if all answers are correct, but this is only so you will be able to see the scoring guidelines and check your own work against the correct answers in the scoring guidelines.)
