TO TEST OR NOT TO TEST – THE SAT/ACT QUESTION January 27th at 6:30P
Mr. Torsten Sannar, Managing Director of Compass Education Group will discuss college admissions testing and COVID-19's impact, which includes: the continuation of test optional/test blind policies and the impact on admissions for Fall 2021. What does test optional truly mean and how should applicants determine the best options for them with test date disruptions, etc. Additionally, testing timelines, which college admission test is best for the student and subtlety of the variety of testing policies will also be discussed. Freshman through Junior’s are encouraged to attend as well as parents.
Must have a valid PVPUSD school ID to register and must register by noon on 1/27.

The cost of college is incredibly daunting and needs to be considered and discussed from the beginning of the process. Nancy Shafer, Financial Aid & Scholarship Specialist, PVPHS will discuss the costs of college, the terminology and financial considerations of the process starting with applications through attendance.
CONNECTING WITH COLLEGES March 16th at 6:30P
As students build their college list, it is important to research and meet schools you are interested in attending. Allie Kvidera, Regional Director of Admissions for Texas Christian University will discuss the importance of connecting with colleges especially in light of COVID restrictions and how to gauge a good understanding of what the school is really like. Additionally, it is important to understand if the schools track demonstrated interest, what that means, how it is done and does it help or hurt your application. What should you expect at a college fair or a college tour and what information you can expect to gain at these events.
