PSAT exam will be offered at Pen High on Wednesday morning, October 16 at 7am. We will be on a special bell schedule that day, with 0 period starting at 10:30am.


The PSAT exam is available to our sophomores and juniors. Juniors who do well on this exam may be recognized as National Merit Scholars and be eligible for a plethora of scholarships. The PSAT is also a great way to get a feel for the format of the SAT exam.


Exam Fees

Week of September 9:  $23

Week of September 16: $28

Week of September 23 (while supplies last): $35.


Students should bring cash or a check payable to PVPHS PSAT and their PVPHS ID card to the Student Store to sign up.






All students are required to come to the PSAT Pre-Administration session before school on Wednesday, October 2 in the gym.

  • This is a late start day. Students with a 0 period must be in the gym by 8am; students that do not have a 0 period must be in the gym at 8:45am
  • Students will prepare their PSAT answer sheet at this time by bubbling in name, address, National Merit Scholarship entry info, etc.
  • You MUST BRING two #2 pencils with erasers - no mechanical pencils!
  • You MUST BRING your PVPHS ID card
  • You MUST bring a clipboard or some other flat surface to write on (you will be sitting in the bleachers)
  • The Pre-Administration session will take approximately 45 minutes so you will be done just in time to get to your first class of the day
  • Students who do not complete the Pre-Administration session will not be allowed to sit for the exam on October 16 and their test fee will NOT be refunded



  • Read through the Student Guide materials that you received when you signed up for your test
  • Take the Practice Test included with the Student Guide
  • Students can access Khan Academy for free, personalized, online SAT practice. This website can also be used to prepare for the PSAT because of the close alignment of the tests.
  • Go to bed early the night before the test and eat a good breakfast
