3/13:  I will attach the Chapter 4 Test on Integration here.  Please print it out and complete it at home on your own.  Instructions on how to turn it in will follow.

3/16:  Your Ch. 4 Test can be turned in as a pdf through email: [email protected].  Let's make the due date Friday, 3/20.  Below is a link to a folder where I will be putting some videos to explain the concepts in Ch. 5.  Expect the first one by Tuesday.  Please check daily for new content.  If you are having trouble viewing the videos, try installing the VLC media player.

I will post note sheets that you should print out.  Then you can fill them out as I talk through them just as if you were in class.

3/17: For section 5.1, do pg. 329-330 #19-28, 45-60, 63, 64, 66, 69, 70.  I'll post some solutions later today.

3/18:  I'm currently looking for a better way to make the videos.  For today, work hard on understanding how to do all the problems I assigned yesterday.  Notice that I posted all the solutions.  Email me any questions you are having.  Moving ahead, IMPLICIT DIFFERENTIATION is the next topic that I will be covering.  Make sure to turn in your Ch. 4 test by Friday by emailing me a picture or pdf.

3/19:  Print a copy of the lesson 2 notes and watch the videos to see how to do the technique called logarithmic differentiation.  Then practice with the problems: pg. 330 #93-98, also do #71,72,75,76 on equations of tangent lines with log functions.  I'll post solutions later.

3/20:  Turn in your Ch. 4 Test by today!

3/23:  Do 5.1 Practice problems(attached), videos are included in the Calculus file.  Please try them first and then watch the videos to make sure you are doing them correctly.  After today, you should be experts at taking a derivative involving the ln and also logarithmic differentiation.  Tuesday morning I will post a short quiz on 5.1 that will be due by 6pm, Tuesday evening.  Please email any questions or concerns you are having.

3/24:  Print 5.1 Quiz and email back to me by 6pm today.  I'm calling this a quiz but really this is just an assessment of how you are understanding the material of Ch. 5.  Please do not worry about the grade!!!
I encourage you to do all the work yourself without help from anyone else.  Write extremely neatly please, showing all your work!!  Grading scale: completion(10), on time completion(11), on time mostly correct(12), on time, all correct(13).  Out of 10.

3/25:  I'll post some videos for problems 83, 86 on pg. 330.  Please watch and then try 84 on your own.  Another video for the first part of section 5.2 will be posted.  Then try pg. 338#1-11odd.  Solutions to the quiz are posted, make corrections.  Remember keep all your work organized so that you can turn it in upon our return.

3/26:  Solutions to pg. 338#1-11 are posted.  Watch 5.2 part2 and part3 videos and then try pg. 338#13,15,17,29-32

3/27:  Check solutions to pg. 338 with the ones I've posted....And have a safe, fun, relaxing week off.

4/6:  Welcome back!  Please review the material from Ch. 5.1 and 5.2.  Especially the new formulas for integrating tanx, cotx, secx, and cscx.  Please watch the video of some sample problems from 5.2 that we haven't done yet.  Then try on your own: pg. 339 #47-53odd, 61,63,69, 79-82,87,89.  Try to spend 45 min each day working problems and reviewing.  I'll post answers to these problems by Tuesday noon.

                                                                  Calculus Videos

4/7:  Review the solutions I've posted for last nights HW.  You should be experts now on taking derivatives of the ln function, logarithmic differentiation and integrating functions of the form 1/x including tanx, secx, cscx, and cotx and u-sub with these types of problems.  Be ready for a short quiz on Wednesday before we move on to Section 5.4(we're skipping 5.3).

4/8:  Complete the Ch. 5 Quiz Review and email me back a picture or pdf by Thursday noon.  If you're having trouble I'm happy to help.  Just email me and we can find a time to talk.  I would also love to hear what colleges you've gotten into.

4/9:  Get your quiz review turned in by noon today!  I'll post the actual quiz on Friday morning.

4/10:  Print out the quiz(Ch. 5 Quiz 2), complete it on your own and email me a picture or pdf that is legible by Saturday noon.

4/13:  Read pg. 350-351 regarding exponential and log equations.  Then try pg. 356 #1-13odd.

4/14:  Sorry, nothing today.

4/15:  Watch the 5.4 Notes video and then try pg. 357#35-55odd.  I've already posted solutions so that you can check your answers.

4/16:  Watch the video fro problems pg. 357#70,72,73.  Then do pg. 357#69,71 and finish problem 73.

4/17:  I've posted solutions to pg. 357#69,71,73.  Check them.  We'll start integrating the exponential function on Monday.  I've also posted the answers to the 5.2 Quiz.  Make corrections.

4/20:  Watch the video and take notes on: "5.4 Integrating e^x".  Then do pg. 358# 85-105 odd.

4/21:  Check your solutions to #85-105 odd with the ones I posted.  Notice how in 99, 101, and 103 that the negative goes away when you switch the limits of integration.  It makes plugging the numbers in at the end easier.  At some point on Tuesday I will post a video for section 5.5 on how to deal with derivatives and integrals of logs and exponentials with bases other than e.

4/22:  Watch the 5.5 Notes part 1 video and try pg. 366 #43-48, 51, 52, 54

4/23:  Check your solutions to pg. 366#43-48,51,52,54 with the ones I posted.  Then watch the video 5.5 Notes part 2.  Then try pg. 366 #37-42, 49,50,59, 61-70.

4/24:  Check your solutions to last nights HW with the ones I posted.  Enjoy your weekend.

4/27:  All review this week.  Please print out and work on Ch. 5 Review - Derivative and Integrals, 2020.  I'll post solutions Monday night.  Let me know if you need extra help.  I'm happy to talk you through some problems.

4/28:  Check your answers with the ones I posted.  Print out the "Super Duper" Review and start working the problems.  It is quite long but includes problem types not included on the first review.  I'll give you until Thursday to complete.

4/29:  Keep working on the reviews.  Send me an email if you want some extra help.  I'll post another review on Thursday that summarizes the chapter section by section.  There is an error in the solutions of the first review packet.  #5 on the 3rd page should say: u = x + 3, the solution works almost the same.

4/30:  You do not need to turn in the review problems.  Just try to get them all done today.  I will post another review on Friday.  The solutions to the super duper review are posted.  A mistake was made on pg.6 j)  the integral of x is not 1, its x squared over 2, so the answer is 3/2 - sec 1, duh.

5/1:  Work on the Ch. 5 section by section review.  Especially focus on section 5.5.  Those problems have not been on the other reviews.

5/4: Review your answers to the section by section review with the answers I posted.  I'm available all day Monday to get on a zoom session with you if need some individual help.  I'll post a Ch. 5 Test on Tuesday.

5/5:  Eat some tacos, then do the Ch. 5 Test '20.  Please email back a pdf of your test by Tuesday midnight.  Please make it legible and neat so that I can actually read it.  After the Ch. 4 Test and ch. 5 quizzes it is abundantly clear that many of you are "cheating" by copying others tests exactly.  If you see a zero on your score for this test it is because I believe that you copied or let someone copy your test.  Please do your own work.  If you're struggling and need help, call me not your classmates.  I'm happy to assist.  Go Panthers!

5/6:  Turn your test in if you haven't already.  We'll start Ch. 6 tomorrow.

5/7:  Print out the pdfs: Introduction to Slope Fields and Ch. 6 HW #1,  then watch the videos "6.1 Notes part 1" and "HW hints".  Take notes and then try to finish the HW #1.

5/8:  I'll post a video sometime on Friday morning showing how to do all the problems on HW#1.  The video is called Ch. 6 HW#1 solutions.   Watch and learn!

5/11:  Print out the Notes for May 11 pdf.  Then watch the video "Notes for May 11".  Then print out the HW for May 11 pdf and do those problems for HW.

5/12:  Check your solutions to May 11 HW with the ones I posted.  Then print out the Notes for May 12 and HW for May 12.  I'm having trouble uploading videos.  So for now just try the problems on both and I'll try to get a video for the Notes posted soon.

I was able to get the video to upload!!  So watch the Notes for May 12 video and then try the HW.

5/13:  Solutions to last nights HW have been posted.  The Algebra for finding the particular solutions was a little difficult.  Just try to follow the steps.  I'll post a video on some application problems later today.

5/14:  Watch the video on Ch. 6 Application Problems which will be posted before noon today.  I'll also have you print out the note sheet to go along with it and the Ch. 6 Application problems HW.  HW problems will be posted tonight sometime for you to work through on Friday.

5/15:  Application problems HW have been posted.  Print out and try on your own.

5/18:  Check solutions to Application prob. HW with the ones I posted.

5/20:  Print the "Diff. Eq. Practice Problems" and start going through all the problems.  There are a lot of them.  So work on them for at least 30 min per day.  I'll probably make a video or 2 explaining how to do a good sample of them.

5/22:  I've posted "Solutions to Algebraic Diff. Eq."  Please look them over and move on to the Slope fields and Application problems.  See you next week.

5/26:  I'll post solutions to the rest of the packet soon.  Keep working on them.  Test will be posted next Monday.
Email me if you'd like to go over anything.  I'll be helping to pass out caps and gowns tomorrow at                        school.  I hope to see you there!

5/28:  "Solutions to Slope fields and applications" are posted.  Review them, study them, know them, live                   them.  Chapter 6 test posted on Monday.

6/1:  Do the Chapter 6 Test and turn in this week.

6/8:  Turn in any makeup work by Wednesday 6/10 to receive credit.  Your grade will be the higher of your 3rd quarter grade or your current grade on Aeries.
