11th grade students who would like to register for the January 26th, 2021 PSAT/NMSQT will need to pay during the week of November 13-20, 2020 electronically through the student Webstore. Payment will be $21 (with a $1.50 service fee).
Peninsula High School and Palos Verdes High School will be offering the PSAT/NMSQT Exam for our 11th grade students on Tuesday, January 26th, 2021. Though the PSAT/NMSQT is typically offered during the month of October, College Board has allowed schools to offer a January 26th test date in order for 11th grade students to have an opportunity to take the PSAT as well as qualify for National Merit Scholarship consideration. This is not an exam that is required for any colleges, and is up to the student on whether to share the score to any colleges. However, it is a way to potentially qualify for scholarships if students score in the top 3-5% of test takers nationwide.
Please remember this exam can only be taken once per school year, so if your student has already taken the PSAT/NMSQT as a junior, then they cannot take it again this school year.
We realize this is a school day, so any students who take the exam with us will have their class absences excused for that day.
Details on coming to campus to take the exam on January 26th, 2021 will be released to registered families closer to the test date. Please know that we will put all necessary safety protocols in place for the safety of your student so that they can take the PSAT/NMSQT. However, if the regulations from the CDE change, we may not be able to host the exam.
