PVPUSD Transitioning to MaiaLearning & CCGI for

College and Career Planning

Dear PVPUSD Families,

We are writing to inform you of an important update regarding our college and career planning tools. Beginning July 1, PVPUSD will transition from SchooLinks to MaiaLearning as our primary College and Career planning platform. In addition, the Board of Education has approved a new partnership with the California College Guidance Initiative (CCGI) and its platform, CaliforniaColleges.edu, to further support our students’ postsecondary goals.

We understand that there is never a perfect time to change systems; however, with our SchooLinks contract expiring on June 30, this summer time transition allows us to align with platforms that are more comprehensive and better connected to California’s higher education systems.

Who Will Use These Platforms?

• MaiaLearning accounts have been created for all students in grades 9–12. Go to MaiaLearning website, and sign in with Google using your student credentials. It will appear in your portal in the 25-26 School Year, but for now, you need to go directly to the website. 
• CCGI (CaliforniaColleges.edu) accounts are available for all students in grades 6–12. To register your student account, please watch this video: REGISTER YOUR ACCOUNT

Why MaiaLearning?

MaiaLearning is a student-centered, intuitive platform that helps manage the college application process and career exploration journey. Students will benefit from:

• A streamlined college list and application management system
• College essay and résumé tools
• Career interest assessments
• Real-time tracking of application progress and deadlines

What is CCGI?

CCGI is a free statewide initiative that aligns with California’s Cradle-to-Career Data System. It supports:

• Exploration of California public colleges, which includes these three major systems: University of California (UC), California State University (CSU), and California Community College (CCC)
• Transcript and verified GPA data uploads to meet Cal Grant eligibility
• FAFSA/CADAA completion tracking
• Direct electronic transcript/GPA submissions to CSU and CCC campuses
• A-G course planning and progress tracking
