Strive - Virtual College Exploration Week (THIS WEEK!!!)
  • This is 4 full days of virtual presentations for juniors to explore college opportunities.
  • This week you will register for a MINIMUM of 2 panels and attend these sessions. 
  • You will take notes on each session and turn in to Schoology.com for credit (1 full page of notes per session)- Due Friday 4/24 by midnight.

Zoom / Virtual Tutorials
  • Virtual (Zoom) Tutorials will continue this week.
  • The students that participated in last week's Zoom tutorials said that it was VERY helpful. 
  • Groups will be small (2-3 kids maximum)
  • This is a great way to get personalized help with your classwork.
  • Students that do tutorial will turn in their notes from the Zoom tutorial for credit.
  • If you are not interested in Zoom tutorials, then you can do one of the other 2 options listed above that will help you prepare for your content classes (study guide or focused notes)

  1. Mandatory Zoom Meeting this Wednesday 4/22 at 11:00.

  2. Strive - Virtual College Exploration Week. (60 points)
    • This is happening this week Monday thru Thursday.  There are many, many panel offerings for you to choose from. 
    • You will register for a MINIMUM of 2 panels and attend these sessions.

  3. Agenda Book (10 points) - Upload photos of your agenda book for this week and last week to Schoology.com
    • DUE:  Tuesday 4/21 by midnight
  4. Prep Work For Content Classes (30 points)
    • Choose ONE of the following and submit to Schoology by Friday at midnight:
      • Attend a ZOOM TUTORIAL session on Wednesday.  
        • You will submit your notes from tutorial session to Schoology.

        • If you need help with a class that is not listed on the sign up, please contact Spalding to add the class to the sign up.
      • A 2 page study guide for a content class
      • 2 pages of focused notes for a content class
  5. Essay (Due this Friday 4/24) (30 points)
    • Do ONE of the following and turn in to Schoology.com.
      • 1.  Write a 1 page essay on ONE of the following prompt:  "What I miss most from my pre-COVID 19 life is......"
      • 2.  Read the following article and answer the prompt:  "Is calculator inequality impacting some students’ educational trajectory? Why or why not?  Is the College Board’s calculator policy fair and reasonable?  Should it remain the same?"
Grades on Aeries Will Be Updated This Wednesday:
I will be updating grades on Aeries this Wednesday by adding the point total from Schoology to Aeries.  Please be sure to submit any late work to Schoology.com by Tuesday at noon. 
 
It is not too late to turn in late work on Schoology and raise your grade in AVID.  When you submit late work to Schoology, Mr. Spalding will be notified and will grade the late work and give generous partial credit (for work that is done well).  Please check your Schoology account and look for....

  2. Comments from Mr. Spalding regarding the grading of an assignment.
