Due:

Assignment

Keep on working on that AP Portfolio.

I will check the AP Studio Digital Submission page this week and provide feedback.

You should upload at least two new works this week to your investigation.

Next week we will begin to work on your writing.

Due:

Assignment

Two Choices:

Assignment 1:  Download an app for your phone/tablet like Stop Motion Studio.  Make a short stop motion using whatever you have around the house.  Think about story telling and your situation.  You can do this without an app if you want.  We can sequence the photos, but it is much harder and the apps usually provide onion skinning.  I've used Stop Motion Studio and it is pretty intuitive.

The theme for this short should be Social Distance.  Lets get at our lived experience.  Use what you have.  Bootstrap!  Rubber bands, binder clips, masking tape can all be used to hold your phone in place.  You need to secure the camera otherwise we' will get sea sick. We can edit it later when we are back if you have a few scenes.  You can obviously edit at home if you have iMovie or similar.  Things like erasers can be characters.  Don't forget lighting and sets.  Build a stage.  Or use live actors... like the film Luminaris that we watched.  Anything you want to try, but stick to that theme of Social Distance.

Assignment 2:  Create two new characters for an already existing animated series/movie.  Draw out your characters on paper or digitally.  Front, Back, and Side views.  You need to write out your character's bio and potential plot lines.  Also write a short synopsis of the show/movie you are working with.  Bios should be 2-3 paragraphs with backstory, stats, etc...  Invent one or two potential plot lines for your new characters in the world of your existing series.

I will update you on turn-in requirements this week.  Stay tuned.
