Scheduling 2026-2027

School Logo

As we begin scheduling for the upcoming school year, it is essential that all students discuss course options with their parents and come to their counseling meetings with completed and signed scheduling sheets. Course Requests for the 2026-2027 School-year will be added to Aeries during these one-on-one scheduling meetings.

Scheduling sheets should reflect thoughtful conversations at home and help ensure counseling meetings are productive and aligned with each student’s goals. Course Selection Worksheets can be found below and on each grade level tab on the counseling website.

Freshmen (Current 9th Grade Students)

Freshmen will meet one-on-one with their counselor during their regularly scheduled English class between Monday, February 16 and Friday, February 20, based on their English teacher:

Course Selections Worksheets and Other Resources

Complete the grade-specific Scheduling Worksheet (below) for the grade you are entering.

A Request for Placement Form (found on the district website here is only required for classes for which  the student does not meet the prerequisites (as defined in the Course Description Handbook).

Students may also want to reference the Educational Planning Guide when planning their course selections and the Time Management Worksheet (found below) is a useful tool when planning a balanced schedule for student academic and social emotional success.

The Educational Planning Guide provides a richer understanding of our departmental pathways, A-G requirements, graduation requirements, and more.

For a rich description of our Career and Dual Enrollment Pathways and the requirements to complete each one, please visit this link and ask your counselor for more details.

During the months of January & February teachers will be holding "Course Previews" to provide exciting information, and answering questions about specific electives and new classes. Please take the time to go to any and all sessions that interest you, and talk to your counselor about adding these to your course requests for the 2026-2027 schoolyear.

Waiving into Courses

Using the prerequisites for the next course in sequence is the best predictor of success. You may select a different course than that which was recommended to you, but if you do not meet the prerequisite (review Course Description Handbook to determine prerequisites) then you must submit a Request for Placement Form through this link on the district website.

Please be advised that, per Board policy, level changes are based on space availability. Therefore, it is essential that students select courses wisely and not assume that they will be able to drop down from an Honors or AP class.

Additionally, if a student received a D or F in the prerequisite a Request for Placement Form may be denied.

Summer School Plans

If you indicated in your Course Selection Worksheet that you are planning to take summer school, please complete the Out-of-District Course Application through this link on the district website. These forms are due to be returned to counselors by May 15, 2026.

Finalizing Course Selections

Counselors will meet with students to review their course selections between January 19th through March 13th (see above for specific dates).

Once counselors have met with and verified all student course requests, parents will receive notification to review all course requests for the 2026-2027 school year in Aeries. Any changes to course requests, or notifications regarding summer school must be submitted to counselors via Program Change Request Form by May 15, 2026.

During the summer, requests to change a course due to a graduation requirement or summer school issue must be submitted via email to Dr. Jennifer Panagos, Associate Principal at [email protected]. All other course request changes must wait until after registration in August. However, any requests submitted in the summer will be based on space availability and cannot be guaranteed.
