![]() We’re excited to welcome you to Peninsula High School! The transition to 9th grade is a big step, but we’re here to support you every step of the way. Here are some important dates to keep in mind.

8th grade students will have a group orientation with their chosen High School and then a one-on-one scheduling meeting with their Peninsula High counselor.
Below is the schedule based on students' Middle School.
Students should review course selections with their parents ahead of time and arrive with a completed signed parent/guardian scheduling sheet (see below).

Waiving into Courses
Using the prerequisites for the next course in sequence is the best predictor of success. You may select a different course than that which was recommended to you, but if you do not meet the prerequisite (review Course Description Handbook to determine prerequisites) then you must submit a Request for Placement Form through this link on the district website.
Please be advised that, per Board policy, level changes are based on space availability. Therefore, it is essential that students select courses wisely and not assume that they will be able to drop down from an Honors or AP class.
Additionally, if a student received a D or F in the prerequisite a Request for Placement Form may be denied.
Summer School Plans
If you indicated in your Course Selection Worksheet that you are planning to take summer school, please complete the Out-of-District Course Application through this link on the district website. These forms are due to be returned to counselors by May 8, 2026.
