I have been a professional educator since 1991. I have taught in CA, PA, HI, and TX. My credentials are in Secondary Mathematics, Computer Concepts, and Physics. This year I am going to be joining the SMERT team in Engineering as well. Yahoo!
My B.S. was obtained at Westmont College in Santa Barbara as well as my teacher training program. I did masters work at UCI and Concordia University for my M.Ed. in Curriculum & Instruction with a minor in Educational Technology.
I love teaching but more importantly, I want to teach HOW TO LOVE LEARNING. Anything... learning is amazingly fun. I love to read about all the brain research being done. I listen to a lot of podcasts about science!
Some facts about me:
I grew up in Orange County when we still had tons of oranges.
I am an identical twin (she lives in Portland, OR).
My husband works from home and sells corporate childcare.
My daughter attends college in Birmingham, AL.
My son is entering 8th grade in Long Beach Unified.
We have two rescue dogs and a bearded dragon.
I prefer Apple products. :)
I am related to Laura Ingalls Wilder... do you know who that is?
I recently started a TpT page, a website, a blog, and a YouTube channel for math videos.
I also made some sourdough starter from scratch... and my son loves to bake!
I have a pilot's license and love to scuba dive. I like to garden, paint, knit, do puzzles of all kinds, and watch and read mysteries and historical fiction.
I also play in a handbell choir.
Some days this whole lockdown COVID thing really blows.
